“Space is as much a place for scientists, I believe, as the arctic, Antarctic, and the deep ocean. And Dr. Hawking is showing the way.”
Alan Stern, NASA associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate at Headquarters in Washington, regarding renowned physicist Stephen Hawking’s flight aboard Zero Gravity Corporation's Boeing 727

TEACHERS — GET READY FOR OUTER SPACE…
The Northrop Grumman Foundation is sponsoring the 2008 Weightless Flights of Discovery Program in Georgia, Illinois, California and Florida — and you may be selected!
Participants will access specified NSTA online resources for one year, attend a microgravity training workshop with a practicing aerospace engineer and Hawking Center Fellow, conduct experiments in parabolic flight, and experience the reduced gravities of outer space.
This is the real deal! For more information and to apply for the program, please visit 2008 Northrop Grumman Foundation Weightless Flights — Apply Here.

What’s it like to live and work in outer space? Are there resources for my students to practice in microgravity? What does it take to plan and conduct an experiment on Mars or the Moon? How can I get a chance to experience ZERO GRAVITY myself? Answers to these questions and more are found here, at the Stephen Hawking Microgravity Education & Research Center.
The preeminent source for all areas of microgravity research and education, the Hawking Center offers weightless flight opportunities and interactive resources for K-20 instructors, students and researchers.
Says Gary Stutte, Ph.D. Senior Scientist V, “…Zero-G flights provide a unique resource for education, training, and research for Florida students…are an effective platform for conducting appropriately designed experiments (and) will allow unprecedented access to the space gravity environments for Florida students, teachers and researchers.”
Executive Summary from his Assessment of ZERO-G Parabolic Flight as an Education Resource for the State of Florida Report.
A new partnership between Space Florida, Inc. and Zero Gravity Corporation, the Hawking Center leverages the excitement and exhilaration of weightlessness to engage all Florida residents in the opportunities presented only through Space Exploration.
